The Boston Celtics faced the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden Wednesday night for their second of four preseason exhibitions, and looked every bit the part of a contender through the first three quarters of the game, jumping out to an early 19-point lead.
But the Raptors kept chipping away at the Celtics’ lead in the second half, and the deep rotation players put on the floor during the game’s final frame simply weren’t up to the task of holding off Toronto’s bench mob, sending the contest, tied at the end of the fourth, to overtime. The sluggish, disorganized play of what one might expect to be a hungrier group continued, and the Celtics would fall 125-119 in the extra period.
Let’s take a look at some of the best plays captured in images from the Celtics’ second of four preseason games of their 2022-23 campaign.
