After going offense with their first two picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams came back in the third round with defense. At No. 84 overall, they selected edge rusher Terrell Lewis out of Alabama.
This is a high-risk, high-reward pick for the Rams, but one that could pay off in a big way. He missed significant time with the Crimson Tide due to injury, but when healthy, he’s an impact player.
After missing the entire 2018 season, Lewis bounced back with 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks last season at Alabama. He was a standout player at the Senior Bowl, which is always a big factor in the Rams’ evaluation process.
At 6-foot-5, 262 pounds, Lewis has prototypical size for outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, as well as the explosiveness to match. But of course, it’s about whether he can stay healthy.
