Rams RB Kyren Williams expected to miss Week 7 with sprained ankle

Adam Schefter reported that Kyren Williams has a sprained ankle that’s expected to sideline him for Week 7 against the Steelers

Kyren Williams had the best game of his career Sunday when he rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals, but he may be forced to miss some time due to an ankle injury suffered at the end of the game.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, an MRI revealed Williams has a sprained ankle that’s expected to sideline him for Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fortunately, it’s not expected to be a long-term injury, but even missing one game will be a blow for the Rams, especially with Ronnie Rivers also going down in Sunday’s win. Rivers is expected to miss 4-5 weeks with a PCL sprain, likely landing him on injured reserve.

Sean McVay originally said after the game that he thought Williams would be OK, but the MRI apparently said otherwise.

With Williams and Rivers likely to miss the upcoming game against Pittsburgh, rookie Zach Evans would be in line to start at running back.
