Rams make 4 roster moves ahead of 49ers matchup

Natrez Patrick and Derek Rivers have officially been added to the active roster.

The Rams have had to do a lot of roster shuffling lately with injuries popping up, forcing them to place players on IR and subsequently fill their spots on the 53-man roster.

They continued to churn the roster on Saturday ahead of their matchup with the 49ers, making four transactions.

They signed Natrez Patrick to the 53-man roster, elevated J.R. Reed from the practice squad for the second straight week, officially added Derek Rivers to the active roster and placed Jake Gervase back on the practice squad after coming off the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Rivers is eligible to play Sunday against the 49ers, but Sean McVay indicated that it’s unlikely he’ll suit up this week.

Patrick provides depth at inside and outside linebacker now that Micah Kiser and Terrell Lewis are both out, while Reed will be an emergency option at safety.
