Rams held pre-draft meeting with Oklahoma State LB Amen Ogbongbemiga

The Rams have shown interest in Amen Ogbongbemiga ahead of the 2021 NFL draft.

Inside linebacker is one of the Los Angeles Rams’ biggest needs this offseason but the team has done nothing to address it yet. The 2021 NFL draft is still to come, which is where they’re expected to select a potential starter at linebacker.

The team might have its eyes on Oklahoma State’s Amen Ogbongbemiga, though, after holding a pre-draft meeting with him over videoconference. The meeting was reported by Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, along with several other teams who have shown interest in the OK State linebacker.

Ogbongbemiga was a two-year starter for the Cowboys, racking up 180 tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks in the last two seasons alone. He also had one interception and four forced fumbles in his career, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2019.

He’s much better against the run than he is in coverage, which will drop him into the middle and late rounds of the draft this year. Ogbongbemiga isn’t a player the Rams should count on to be a Day 1 starter if selected, but he is now someone to watch on Day 3 if Los Angeles doesn’t address the position earlier.
