Rajon Rondo spotted doing drills at Lakers practice

The Los Angeles Lakers are not giving any update on Rondo’s status, but he looked like someone ready to play.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been playing it coy with regards to the status of veteran guard Rajon Rondo and the potential return of the legend known as “Playoff Rondo.” But it sure looks like if Rondo does play in this series, even though head coach Frank Vogel termed it “unlikely” for Rondo to play in tomorrow’s Game 1 of the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Rondo was going through an extra bit of work with some of the Lakers younger players, captured by our own Mark Medina of USA Today.

However, given Rondo’s history of playing through injury, as well as the level he takes things in the postseason, the possibility that he does play cannot be completely ruled out.

The Lakers, who had the third-worst offense in the bubble through the seeding games, could certainly use Rondo’s experience and ability in the postseason. Already without the services of Avery Bradley, having Rondo should be a big lift to the Lakers after not having him for the past few weeks.
