Raiders will not lead NFL in travel miles for first time in a while

It’s funny what not traveling halfway across the world to play a ‘home’ football game will do for your travel miles. For the first time in four years, the Raiders will actually not lead the league in miles traveled this season.

Moving to a more central location in Las Vegas helps a bit as well. This season they will have the seventh-most travel miles, according to Brian Burke of ESPN.

Not only had the Raiders led the league in travel miles the past three seasons, but they had also been in the top three each of the past six years. Only once in those six years did they not play an international game. That was 2015 when they had the third most miles traveled.

Most of the Raiders’ miles this season will be from facing the AFC East and the NFC South. It has them making trips to New York, New England, Carolina, and Atlanta along with trips to Cleveland and Kansas City.
