One position the Raiders don’t have an immediate need at is on the offensive line. The team is expected to bring back all five starters return in 2020 as well as a few essential backups such as David Sharpe and Brandon Parker.
However, that isn’t going to stop the Raiders from doing their due diligence on some of the best offensive line prospects in this class.
One of the most intriguing offensive linemen in this draft is Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland. According to 3sigmaathlete.com, Cleveland tested as the second-most athletic offensive linemen at the NFL Combine, only behind Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs. He ran an impressive 4.93 40-yard dash at 311 pounds and is now one of the hottest names entering the NFL Draft.
According to Justin Melo of the Draft Wire, the Raiders will be one of the several teams that will visit with Cleveland ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft. Cleveland is currently projected to be selected sometime on the second day of the draft, but could easily slide into the first round given his athleticism.
While it’s very likely that Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden are just doing their due diligence here, there is a chance he could be the best player available when they go on the clock in the third round. Keep an eye on Cleveland as a possible riser at offensive tackle in this class.
