One look at the snaps counts this week is the ratio off snaps between the offense and defense. And it does a pretty good job of telling the story of how badly the Raiders were pummeled in Buffalo Sunday.
The ratio? By a nearly 2-1 margin the defense was on the field over the offense.
That’s…insane.
The offense was on the field for just 40 snaps. Meanwhile the defense was on the field for 78 snaps. Two more defensive snaps and they’d have done it. Basically, if they hadn’t kneeled out the clock at the end.
What this says is while the offense was having trouble sustaining drives, the defense couldn’t stop anything. Thus the 38-10 beatdown in Buffalo.
The most glaring example of this was the third quarter where the Raiders offense was on the field for a grand total of four snaps. The Bills drove for two scores while the Raiders turned the ball over on the fourth play of their only possession. Woof.
