Raiders take RB Josh Jacobs at No. 4 in redraft of 2019 NFL Draft

Have you ever wished that the Raiders could have a do-over for a certain draft class? Maybe instead of drafting Kolton Miller in 2018, the Raiders take the future All-Pro safety in Derwin James instead. Or in 2017, they take T.J. Watt instead of Gareon Conley to pair with Khalil Mack.

In a recent article by Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, he re-drafted the entire first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. At pick No. 4, the Raiders took Josh Jacobs instead of Clelin Ferrell as there would have been no scenario in which Jacobs would have fallen to No. 24. Take a look at Knox’s reasoning behind the selection:

Murray nearly lost out on Offensive Rookie of the Year because of Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs. One could easily argue that the Alabama product was more deserving of the award, as he finished with 1,150 rushing yards, 166 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

There’s no chance the Raiders would land Jacobs with their next pick at 24. So instead of taking former Clemson edge-rusher Clelin Ferrell—who had an underwhelming rookie campaign—they pull the trigger on Jacobs early.

While it’s tough for the Raiders to pass on the likes of A.J. Brown, Hollywood Brown and Brian Burns at No. 4, Jacobs has a strong case given how he carried the offense last year. Assuming he can make it through the season healthy in 2020, he has a legit chance to lead the NFL in rushing yards.
