Raiders select Clemson WR Tee Higgins in latest Draft Wire mock

The Raiders offense in 2019 has exceeded just about every expectation anyone had entering the season. Despite Antonio Brown quitting on them a few days before the home opener, the Raiders’ offense has been one of the main reasons they’ve had success this year.

However, you can bank that the Raiders will continue to try to upgrade that unit this offseason, specifically at wide receiver. Luckily for them, it’s a loaded draft class, and the team will have two first-round picks, likely in the teens to improve that position.

In a recent mock draft by Luke Easterling of the Draft Wire, he gave the Oakland a potential No. 1 receiver in Clemson’s Tee Higgens. Take a look at Easterling’s thoughts on this potential pick:

The Antonio Brown debacle is in the rear-view mirror, but the Raiders still need a No. 1 receiver who can take over a game with size, athleticism and physicality. Higgins has a rare blend of size, length and body control that could quickly make him the team’s top pass-catcher.

In 11 games this season, Higgins has caught 40 passes for 799 yards and eight touchdowns. Over the last two seasons, he has hauled in 20 touchdowns as Clemson’s big-play machine. While he needs to continue to improve in the fine details of his game, he would be a perfect fit in Oakland’s offense. Remember Higgins’ name over the next several months.
