One of the biggest question marks of the offseason will be if Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden decide to make a move at the quarterback position. If the team ultimately decides to move on, the Raiders will have several intriguing options in the first round to fill that need.

One such player of interest could be Utah State’s Jordan Love, who won the weigh-ins on Monday. In a recent article by former scout Bucky Brooks, he named the Raiders as the best fit for Love in the NFL. Take a look at why Love might be the perfect selection for the Raiders in the first round:

Jon Gruden has enjoyed his greatest success with veteran quarterbacks, but Love’s talent could take the Raiders‘ offense to another level. The Utah State standout is more willing to push the ball down the field than the team’s incumbent starter (Derek Carr); if he can do a better job controlling his risk-taking, Love could help the Raiders close the gap on their AFC West rivals.

Love has all of the talent you could ask for in a quarterback prospect but needs a ton of refinement. If a quarterback-guru such as Gruden had the chance to work with and develop Love, there is certainly a chance that he could become one of the better passers in this draft.

However, the Raiders could decide that there is too much risk in drafting Love in the first round. It will be fascinating to see where he lands in the NFL.
