Raiders lose to Colts in Week 17, eliminated from playoff contention

The Las Vegas Raiders had a chance to make the postseason if they could finish the 2023-2024 season with two more wins. Their biggest game of the season came in week 17, facing the Colts in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, the Raiders were not able to seal the deal, losing 23-20.

The Raiders had a chance late in this game with the score Colts 20-13. Colts PK Matt Gay missed a 50-yard field goal with just over three minutes left, but Jack Jones lined up offsides and that allowed the Colts to retry the kick. Gay would make the 45-yard kick to give the Colts a 23-13 lead with 3:11 on the clock.

The Raiders would score a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 23-20 with under a minute left. Davante Adams caught a brilliant fade on fourth down to get it a one-score game. However, the Raiders were unable to recover the onside kick and that ended the game.

The Raiders will finish up the 2023-2024 season by hosting the Denver Broncos in Week 18. The Raiders have a record of 7-9 after 16 games and will try to finish the season on a high note next week at home.
