Raiders grab small-school SS/LB Kyle Dugger on Day 2 in latest Draft Wire mock

Mock draft season is in full swing, and by now, you know the names that have been the most commonly mocked to the Raiders. CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Kenneth Murray, etc. The most recent mock draft at the Draft Wire was no different as the Raiders selected Jeudy and Lamb in the first round.

However, the players that aren’t mocked in the first round often don’t get enough coverage. That changes today as the Draft Wire recently posted a four-round mock draft, and the Raiders made a somewhat surprising pick in the third round.

In the middle of the third-round, Luke Easterling mocked small-school safety Kyle Dugger from Lenior-Ryne. While he missed time during his senior season with a hand injury, Dugger was able to make a big impression at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

At 6’1, 220 pounds, many wonder if Dugger’s best spot in the NFL might be as a linebacker. He is a rare athlete who can run from sideline to sideline with ease. Not only can he contribute on defense, but he can also return kicks as well, scoring six career touchdowns on punt returns in college.

If the Raiders are searching for a nickel linebacker who can also give them snaps as a safety, Dugger could be the ideal pick sometime during the second day of the draft. Keep an eye on this small-school stud as a possible selection for the Raiders.
