For the most part, Raiders Nation appears to be happy with their 2020 draft haul. And how could you not be? They added speed and talent to their two biggest positions of need at wide receiver and cornerback. On top of that, they added a freak athlete at linebacker in Tanner Muse and a potentially a starting guard in John Simpson, both of whom are from Clemson.
But draftniks aren’t as sold on the Raiders’ draft class. In a consensus board by 13 of the top draft analysts in our game, the Raiders finished with the fourth-worst draft grade among NFL teams over the weekend. The only teams with a worse “GPA” were the Seahawks, Texans and Packers. Take a look at each individual grade given out by each grader:

Draft grades are fun to read about post-draft, but they don’t mean anything by the time the season begins. Most draft analysts didn’t give the Raiders a passing grade for the 2019 class, but it turned out to be the best draft class in the entire league.
Given how well Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden drafted in 2019, we should give them the benefit of the doubt once again. Look for the Raiders’ 2020 class to have multiple players on the field and contributing this season.
