With just over a week until the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the possible names for the Raiders at pick No. 12 appear to be shrinking. One of the few names that will get a ton of consideration from Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden is Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Jeudy is widely considered one of the top two receivers in the class after racking up nearly 2,500 yards over the last two years in the SEC. He’s the best route runner in the class and a plug-and-play starter either in the slot or on the outside.
According to BetMGM.com, the Raiders are the odds-on favorite (+225) to select Jeudy in the first round, ahead of the New York Jets (+275) and the San Franciso 49ers (+350). Jeudy is also the favorite to be the first receiver drafted (-170), ahead of CeeDee Lamb (+170) and Henry Ruggs III (+240).
Is Jeudy a better fit in the Raiders’ offense than Lamb or Ruggs? That certainly can be up for debate. But the oddsmakers appear to believe that Jeudy could be the pick over Lamb if both are on the board.
While we likely won’t get any information about which way the Raiders are leaning until they announce the pick, it does feel like they may be targeting the former Alabama star at No. 12.
