Raiders enter playoff picture but bulk of remaining schedule vs higher seeded teams

Raiders enter playoff picture but with brutal remaining schedule

It’s kinda crazy to see the Raiders sitting at 5-5 right now. With the way they looked for much of the first part of the season, it looked like they might not reach five wins total, let alone ten games in.

Getting back to .500 has also entered them into the playoff hunt.

See ’em down there at the 11th seed?

The question becomes if they will remain in the conversation after this week.

The next three weeks they face teams who all have higher seeds than they do — the Dolphins (four seed), Chiefs (one seed), and Vikings (seven seed).

In fact, five of their final seven games come against teams that are currently ahead of them in the seeding. The other two are a second meeting with the top seeded Chiefs and a Week 17 matchup with the Colts (nine seed).

The only two games they have the rest of the way not against teams currently in the playoff picture are those against the Chargers and Broncos. Both teams currently sit at 4-5 on the season and represent the only teams currently with losing records. The Broncos in particular are riding a three-game win streak.

The combined record of the Raiders remaining opponents is 42-26.
