Raiders are favorites to draft Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy

The Raiders have done a fantastic job in free agency filling holes, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The team was able to grab starting-caliber players at defensive end, defensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback, and safety. They even grabbed two proven offensive players in Nelson Agaholor and Jason Witten.

However, the Raiders still desperately lack a No. 1 receiver that can win on the outside. That is why they are the favorites to select Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (+200) at BetMGM.com. Jeudy is arguably the best receiver in the class, totaling just under 2,500 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns over the last two collegiate seasons.

In a recent mock draft by Luke Easterling of the Draft Wire, the Raiders were lucky enough to grab Jeudy at pick No. 12 in the first round. Take a look at Easterling’s thoughts on the selection and why he slotted him to the Raiders over CeeDee Lamb:

Even with Ruggs off the board, this is still a great scenario for the Raiders, who desperately need a true No. 1 receiver after the Antonio Brown debacle blew up in their faces. While a strong case could be made for Lamb, Jeudy is the most polished and complete pass-catcher in this year’s loaded class, giving him the edge here.

With most of their other needs filled, it is starting to look like Jeudy could be the pick at No. 12. And if that is indeed the case, the Raiders will have hit a homerun as Jeudy is a Day 1 starter who can contribute outside or in the slot. Look for Jeudy’s floor to be pick No. 12 in the first round in April’s draft.
