Raiders add OT Christian Darrisaw in final Dane Brugler mock draft

The Raiders have a ton of needs to fill during the 2021 NFL draft, but none may be bigger than their hole at right tackle. The defense desperately needs help, but adding a dominant right tackle would help keep Derek Carr upright and improve the run game.

That is why Christian Darrisaw of Virginia Tech would be the ideal pick for the Raiders at No. 17. He is a dominant run blocker and has the feet to be an elite left tackle. But for Las Vegas, he would actually play on the right side.

In Dane Brugler’s final mock draft at The Athletic, that’s exactly where he has the Raiders going. Here is why Brugler believes that Darrisaw to the Raiders makes too much sense:

“With Micah Parsons, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jamin Davis still on the board, linebacker is certainly in play here. But the addition of Darrisaw to lock down the right tackle spot would be a substantial boost to Las Vegas’ offense.”

If Darrisaw is available at No. 17, he would be a slam-dunk pick for the Raiders. He is a plug-and-play starter that can play on either side. Darrisaw would be among the best picks the Raiders could make later tonight.
