Raiders add free agent WR Caleb Scott to fill out 90-man offseason roster

Tuesday saw the Raiders make one small piece of business. They added wide receiver, Caleb Scott. The former undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt spent last season on the Packers practice squad and has never appeared in an NFL game.

Scott’s addition becomes the last one the Raiders are able to make without also cutting an existing roster player in a corresponding move. That’s because Scott fills out the team’s 90-man offseason roster.

In last weekend’s rookie minicamp the team tried out four players. Scott was not one of them. Those players were:

Case Cookus, QB, Northern Arizona
Brandon Williams, CB, Texas A&M
Isiah Brown, DB, FIU
Austin Carr, WR, Northwestern
Chase Harrell, DE, Arkansas

As of yet, there has been no official word on adding any of these tryout players. Should the team look to sign any of them, it would mean they would have to cut someone else.
