Former Alabama defensive lineman Raekwon Davis was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in round No. 2 of the 2020 NFL draft, joining fellow 2020 draftee and former Crimson Tide quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.
While Tagovailoa’s name has been all over national headlines and his position on the depth chart is known, behind veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, Davis had been relatively quiet.
Now, just minutes before the Dolphins’ first game of the season against the New England Patriots on the road, Davis gets his shot.
Safid Deen of the Sun Sentinel reported that Davis will be a member of the team’s starting defensive line, starting over former Clemson defensive tackle and Miami 2019 first-round pick, Christian Wilkins.
#Dolphins first team defensive line: Emmanuel Ogbah, Davon Godchaux, Raekwon Davis and Shaq Lawson.
Davis, the rookie second-round pick, likely to start over Christian Wilkins, who may be seen in a third down package.
