Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Quinton Spain seemed to be hinting that there’s more than meets the eye in regard to his surprise release on Wednesday in a now-deleted tweet.
Spain, 29, signed a three-year extension this offseason with the Bills. The team’s 2019 starting left guard returned to that spot for two games to begin 2020, only to be benched for second-year pro Cody Ford.
Just moments after his release, Bills Wire’s Bradley Gelber caught this message that Spain posted to his social media page on Twitter and his since deleted. The message is pretty clear, Spain’s not happy about whatever lead to him being cut by the Bills:

The low-hanging fruit is clearly setup here by this message. Spain, previously Buffalo’s starter, was on the bench over the course of the past month. This message shows he was likely unhappy with that decision made by the Bills coaching staff led by Sean McDermott.
In addition, Spain was also on the Bills’ injury list over the course of the past two games. He was a surprise addition to it prior to the Bills’ Week 5 loss to the Titans as he was scratched with foot injury on game day. The reality of that injury comes into question a bit following his release.
