Over the last few days, Quinn Ewers has added some hardware to his trophy case. The Texas Longhorns QB was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading Texas to an impressive win over Michigan. Hours later, he was named a Davey O’Brien Great 8 Week 2 honoree and recognized as a Manning Award Star of the Week.
Against the Wolverines, the talented junior completed 24-of-36 passing attempts for 246 yards and added three touchdown passes to his resume. While Ewers play was one of the main storylines, Texas continued to show they could beat top ten teams away from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Last season, they beat Alabama on the road.

Through the first two games of the season, Ewers has thrown six touchdown passes and recorded 506 passing yards. He has done an excellent job taking care of the football, only throwing one interception. With him under center, the Texas offense has been hard to stop.
As Ewers prepares to face UTSA, he has become a popular name in the past 72 hours. On Tuesday, he was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week. While fans in Austin have come to expect excellent play from Ewers, the rest of the college football world is starting to take notice.
During the first month of the season, it has been hard to ignore how good Ewers has been. The Longhorns have shown they have the talent to make a championship run, partly due to how good the offense has looked. With plenty of games left on the schedule, there should be more awards on the horizon for Ewers.
