QB Mitchell Trubisky wins 2020 Bears Media Good Guy award

Considering the tumultuous year Mitchell Trubisky has had, it’s not a surprise that he was voted the Bears Media Good Guy Award recipient.

Every year since 2013, members of Pro Football Writers of America’s Chicago chapter elect their Bears Good Guy award winner, the player that is most cooperative with the media.

This year’s winner is quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Considering the tumultuous year Trubisky had with his fifth-year option being declined, Nick Foles being brought into the mix, winning the quarterback competition, being benched in Week 3 and then coming back stronger than ever at the close of the season, he’s handled himself with dignity and treated the media with respect through it all.

Receiver Allen Robinson was runner-up for the award, considering his insight amid a somewhat difficult year with contract negotiations.

Past winners include Robinson (2019), cornerback Prince Amukamara (2018), tight end Zach Miller (2017), cornerback Tracy Porter (2016), offensive lineman Matt Slauson (2015), safety Ryan Mundy (2014) and quarterback Josh McCown (2013).
