QB Derek Carr expected to start against Buccaneers

Carr will be the signal caller for New Orleans on Sunday despite spraining his AC joint against the Packers in Week 3.

While early indicators favored against it, it look likes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against the New Orleans Saints’ starting quarterback after all.

The NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that despite injuring his AC joint in last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, Saints QB Derek Carr is expected to get the start under center for New Orleans. Had he not been ready to go, the starter would have likely been former Bucs QB Jameis Winston.

Carr did not practice for the first two days of Saints practice this week, but he did have limited participation and worked in red zone drills. Carr himself said he would attempt to heal in time for his game against the Bucs, and it looks like that desire became reality in his healing process.

The Bucs face the Saints at 1 p.m. Sunday for Week 4.
