Michigan State football has made another big splash in the NCAA transfer portal, and it’s also going to benefit Tom Izzo and the basketball team. On Friday, dual sport athlete and former 4-star wide receiver, Maliq Carr, announced that he is officially committed to transfer from Purdue to MSU.
Carr is expected to play both football and basketball, making him the second dual sport athlete Tom Izzo will get to have on his team after Keon Coleman, saving him a scholarship while still getting a high-caliber athlete on his roster.
Carr is from Oak Park, Michigan and was the No. 175 ranked player in the 2020 class. He played sparingly as a reserve last year for Purdue, only catching one pass for 15 yards against Iowa on October 24.
