Jake Fromm, Georgia (Buffalo Bills)
There’s a lot about Fromm that gives the impression of a mere game manager. He lacks any elite trait, his arm strength is underwhelming and he can’t be counted on to make much of anything happen outside of the pocket.
But while he does fall short in many areas, his processing ability and consistent ball placement redeem him to an extent.
Fromm has shown a few sparks throughout his career that make us think for a second that he could progress into something more than just average, but he’s got a lot to prove before anyone is convinced — especially now that he’s making the jump to the professional level.
Barring a surprise, Fromm looks like a player whose long-term future is as a backup quarterback at best.
He’s considered Matt Barkley’s biggest competition for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind starter Josh Allen, but faces an uphill battle trying to gain the edge in what’s been an odd offseason surrounded by unprecedented circumstances.
