Pro Football Hall of Fame selects 2 former Falcons players

Former Falcons DE Dwight Freeney and KR Devin Hester were selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Two former Atlanta Falcons players were selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday night at the 2024 NFL Honors ceremony.

Defensive lineman Dwight Freeney, who played for the Falcons during their Super Bowl season in 2016, and wide receiver/return specialist Devin Hester, who played for the team for two seasons (2014-2015), were two of seven players named to the 2024 class.

Freeney spent his first 11 seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, racking up 107 of his 125.5 career sacks from 2002-2012.

Hester was one of the most electrifying kick/punt returners that the NFL has ever seen. While he only spent two seasons in Atlanta (2014-2015), Hester had one of his best seasons in 2014 when he made the Pro Bowl.  For his career, Hester retired with 20 combined kick/punt returns for touchdowns.
