Priority Washington target decommits from Arizona State

One of Washington’s top targets is back on the board after decommitting from Arizona State.

The Washington Huskies have shown strong interest in three-star safety Rylon Dillard-Allen throughout the recruiting process.

Cornerbacks coach John Richardson and safeties coach Vinnie Sunseri made him a top priority early on in the recruiting process, and then in April, he committed to coach Kenny Dillingham and the Arizona State Sun Devils. Now, the three-star safety is back on the market after reopening his recruitment on Wednesday and the Huskies are among his top schools.

“I just want to be happy with my decision,” Dillard-Allen told On3’s Chad Simmons. “My decision will come down to me doing what me and my family think is best for me.”

Rated as the No. 4 player in Arizona and the nation’s No. 33 safety by 247Sports, Dillard-Allen has become a hot commodity with a busy summer ahead of him. Thanks to his elite 4.29 40-yard dash speed, the 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect has become one of the most popular defensive backs in the West.

He has set official visits with USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, Kansas, and Washington this summer, and is expected to take a trip to Seattle during the final week of May, when Jedd Fisch and his staff will host a large number of the Huskies’ other top targets.

Sunseri has shown that he will do everything in his power to secure his top targets on the recruiting trail and has made sure the Huskies are involved with plenty of the nation’s top safeties in the 2025 class, including Dillard-Allen and four-star safety Ladarian Clardy.

In his first year back in college after spending the last four seasons in the NFL, earning commitments from those two prospects would be an impressive opening statement on the recruiting trail for Washington’s new safeties coach.
