Preview: 2022 Golfweek New England Amateur Open

Ledgemont Country Club is once again playing host to the Golfweek New England Amateur Open.

Ledgemont Country Club is once again playing host to the Golfweek New England Amateur Open.

The gem tucked away in Seekonk, Massachusetts, has a championship pedigree as it has played host to New England PGA Championships and countless Rhode Island amateur championship events.

Some of the best non-collegiate amateur golfers in the country will be gracing Ledgemont Country Club July 13-14. Aside from the championship trophy, players will be vying for an invite into the prestigious year-end champions event; the Golfweek International Junior Invitational in November.

Both the boys and girls divisions will have new winners crowned as last year’s champions will not be in the field. Thomas Murdough and Carys Fennessy won last year at Ledgemont Country Club but will not set out to defend their respective titles.

Despite no returning winners, the New England Amateur Open is going to be a highly contested 54-hole shootout. With a 36-18 format, the event is sure to be a marathon that can come down to the final putt on both sides of the field.
