Predictions for Commanders vs. Eagles, Week 10

We make our picks for Monday night’s game between the Commanders and Eagles.

The Washington Commanders had a golden opportunity to defeat one of the NFL’s best teams last week before blowing a 10-point fourth-quarter lead to the Minnesota Vikings.

Last week’s loss dropped Washington to 4-5, snapping a three-game winning streak.

Next up for the Commanders is the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. Can Washington get back to .500 by pulling off the biggest upset of the season Monday?

We make our predictions.

I don’t see this game being a repeat of Week 3. Of course, there is also Washington’s awful luck on Monday Night Football over the years. None of that matters against the Eagles, though.

The Commanders enter this game, winners of three of their last four. Washington is playing outstanding defense right now, but offensive issues remain. For the Commanders to win this game, they’ll need to be aggressive and creative in their playcalling and must protect quarterback Taylor Heinicke.

Is that asking for too much?

The Commanders hang tight through the fourth quarter, but the Eagles are too much, coming away with another win to remain undefeated.

The Commanders defense is certainly playing better. But the offensive line was pretty much manhandled by the Eagles in the Week 3 24-8 loss at FedEx Field. The Eagles hit Washington quarterback Carson Wentz 17 times, sacking him nine times in that game. It was tough to watch.

To win, they will have to be so much better.
