With the 2022 season over 100 days away, fans are clamoring for any bit of news they can get.
While the Longhorns may have a couple more transfer additions up their sleeves to help bolster their defense, it will be a while for any actual football to happen. However, there is certainly a reason for Texas fans to feel some excitement in regards to this team after going 5-7 in 2021.
Texas has a chance to have the most prolific offense in the country as their elite stable of running backs led by Bijan Robinson can be the most dominant backfield in the nation, which is complimented by the best receiving core this program has seen in years.
What makes all of this even better, is the fact that Steve Sarkisian has experience calling an offense that has a surplus of weapons and will likely have a plan as to how to make sure every mouth is fed.
The sky is the limit for the offense if they can figure out the offensive line situation, whereas the defense still is a major area of concern pretty much everywhere.
Last season the team couldn’t generate a pass rush, and with no major additions outside of four-star Justice Finkley, they will need someone to assert themselves. The are also concerns for the linebackers and secondary about whether or not the projected starters will be consistent against both the pass and the run.
With all of this being said and the season still far away, I am going to predict who I think will lead the team in certain statistical categories.
