Predicting the starting defense for the 2020 Washington Redskins

We know that the Washington Redskins defense is stacked with depth, but who will end up getting the nod to start come Week 1?

And now to the linebacking core:

OLB — Cole Holcomb

Holcomb’s rookie season was incredibly encouraging, as the fifth-round pick showed a natural nose for the football and was routinely flying around the field, finding a way to make plays. He’s earned his spot in the starting lineup and has us all excited to see what he can become.

Davis is much more than just a veteran player who can help set the culture. In 2019, with the Chargers, he had one of his most productive seasons in years, and showed that he still has a lot to give. Davis’ leadership in the middle of the defense will do wonders for the Redskins.

OLB — Ryan Anderson

Anderson’s performance in 2019 was highly-encouraging, most notably his game against the Philadelphia Eagles where he had five tackles, two sacks, and three forced fumbles. The move to a 4-3 defense will likely benefit Anderson a ton, as he thrives as a stand-up linebacker who can move around on the outside, so I expect him to win this job in fall camp.
