USA TODAY‘s Nate Davis gave a very optimistic take on the Buffalo Bills in the outlet’s pre-regular season power ranking. Still, the Bills fell.
After previously slotting in as the fourth-best team in USAT’s poll, Buffalo now sits at No. 5.
First, here’s how the Bills were broken down:
5. Bills (4): A defensive line reinforced by rookies Gregory Rousseau and Boogie Basham and return of Star Lotulelei might be enough to vault last year’s AFC finalists past Kansas City.
Ahead of the Bills in the power ranking is the Packers now at No. 4. They are the lone team that jumped them in this updated poll, causing the Bills to drop one spot.
Remaining at the top was the Bucs in USAT’s rankings, followed by the Chiefs and Browns, respectively.
In many polls throughout the offseason, the Bills have appeared in a top-three spot, often behind the Chiefs and Buccaneers.
In this poll, the Bills are once again leading the way in the AFC East, at least. Here’s how the division shakes out:
- 11. Dolphins
- 13. Patriots
- 27. Jets
