OL Lloyd Cushenberry III, LSU
Like their receivers, the Bills re-tooled offensive line last year. Buffalo’s lone pending free agent along the line is Quinton Spain. The Bills could bring him back or look to bring in another young piece. Cushenberry is lining up at center in the title game, but would be moved to guard in a scenario with the Bills.
Cushenberry could be a second or third rounder in the upcoming draft. Draft Wire makes his work ethic sound like a fit for the Bills, too:
One of the unsung guys on offense is Cushenberry. He is an athlete that can get to the second and third levels without much effort. One of his best traits is that Cushenberry looks for work, meaning that he constantly is putting his hat on a defender in both the run game and passing game.
WR Tee Higgins, Clemson
Again, the Bills should look to add a new receiver this offseason. Higgins is the type many peg for the Bills. Brown and Beasley are small and quick while Higgins would bring the size.
Duke Williams was Buffalo’s lone big-bodied target. He could return next season, but the Bills would be smart to bring in a potential No. 1 receiver prospect.
Draft Wire makes him sound much like that:
Higgins is a big target at the wide receiver position. At 6’4″ he can be a weapon in the red zone where things can get tight. Using his height, Higgins attacks the ball in the air at its highest point. He is a problem in space and can make defenders look foolish, double moves are deadly. Higgins also shows great concentration on some plays that leaving you scratching your head wondering how he came down with the ball.
OL John Simpson, Clemson
Not to copy and paste here, but the same goes for Simpson as it does Cushenberry. Spain at left guard is a free agent and Simpson could slide in his spot.
Draft Wire says he’s one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft, but he still could be around in the second or third round:
Simpson should be one of the top interior offensive lineman in the upcoming NFL Draft. The All-American isn’t the most athletic lineman but he can match power with the best of them. At the next level he will need to bring that same power to battle the power of defensive tackles such as Vita Vea, Aaron Donald and Danny Shelton.
RB Travis Etienne, Clemson
A running back? Sure. The Bills could use a third-round pick to match up with their 2019 third rounder in Devin Singletary.
Frank Gore is 36 and a pending free agent. He brought something special on the sideline and in the locker room, but on the field? Gore left a lot to be desired. At 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, Etienne could be a good player to mix with Singletary’s smaller, elusive style. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said he thinks NFL teams need two running backs, so the Bills could eventually be adding someone this offseason.
Draft Wire called Etienne potential dual-threat beast:
Etienne is a big-play threat in both the run game and as a receiver out of the backfield. Took a big step as a receiver more than doubling his career receptions in 2019. Runs with good balance which makes it difficult to take him down with arm tackles, shows good vision as he sets up blocks down the field. Gets downhill quickly and will outrun angles with ease.
