Post-signing day Michigan football 2021 recruiting superlatives

Who’s the MVP of the 2021 class? Most likely to succeed? Most likely to outperform their ranking? We break down Michigan football’s signees.

With all of their commits in the fold, the early signing day period is over for the Wolverines, having started and ended on Wednesday.

For all the rumors, uncertainty, and on-field issues at Michigan, the 2020 recruiting class rounded out quite nicely in Ann Arbor. Though it wasn’t perfect, the Wolverines lost two four-star commitments on the defensive side, the class as a whole turned out much better than what it could have.

The maize and blue ended up with two top-50 players on the offensive side, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings — the Wolverines have the 14th-ranked class in the nation.

One major flaw to the 2020 class? No incoming help for the interior of the defensive line. Michigan was able to sign three defensive ends — with some who could bulk up and move inside — but as of right now there is nothing coming in.

We are going to break down this recruiting class with eight different superlatives like: MVP, most likely to succeed, and highest expectations.

Note: I will be using a different signee for each superlative — except one I did double up on.
