Possible Bills target in Clemson’s Tee Higgins declares for draft

Possible Buffalo Bills 2020 NFL draft target, Clemson Tigers WR Tee Higgins, declared for the draft.

Tee Higgins lost in the National Championship Game with Clemson vs. LSU on Monday. The wide receiver recorded three catches for 52 yards and an impressive 36-yard end around carry for a score.

The next time he touches a ball in a game, could it be for the Buffalo Bills? That thought took the first step forward on Wednesday, as Higgins declared for the 2020 NFL draft:

The upcoming wideout draft class has been long raved about as a deep one. Still, the defensive line class was said to be deep in 2019, and Ed Oliver ended up on the Bills.

As things currently sit, Buffalo could use a playmaker, and one just like Higgins. During his three-year college career with the Tigers, Higgins flashed his potential as a No. 1 receiver. In 37 career games, Higgins had 2,448 yards and 135 catches for 27 touchdowns. His 2019 season saw him reel in 59 passes for 1,167 yards and 13 scores.

Impressive numbers aside, what attracts many Bills fans to Higgins is the way he gets the job done as a 6-foot-4, big-bodied target. The Bills have solid wideouts in John Brown and Cole Beasley, but that grouping can stand to add to its depth and height this offseason.

Per Pro Football Focus, Higgins was their fourth-best receiver in the 2020 draft class with an overall grade of 90.7.

Higgins could be around when the Bills select with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round at this year’s draft. The Draft Wire has him selected at the No. 19 pick to the Raiders in their most recent mock draft.
