Trail Blazers at Lakers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Lakers 115, Trail Blazers 104

Money line (ML)

The LAKERS (-160) are profitable enough to trust with a money line bet on their home floor. They’ve won back-to-back games by 20-plus points after dropping their season-opener to the rival Los Angeles Clippers. They’re playing the final game of a four-game homestand to start the season and will head out for four straight on the road beginning Wednesday.

The Blazers beat the Houston Rockets 128-126 in overtime Saturday in a bounce back from their 120-100 loss to the Utah Jazz in their opener.

Against the spread (ATS)

The Lakers won two of three meetings last regular season before winning the first-round playoff series 4-1. Their victories came by margins of 23 and 8 points, with a 127-119 loss coming in the final meeting of the season.

The Blazers’ depth is being tested already this season while the Lakers are at relatively full health. Even if Davis needs to sit out again, PF Kyle Kuzma is coming off a 20-point performance in his place against the Timberwolves. F LeBron James averaged 24.7 points per game and 11.3 assists per game in the three games against the Blazers last regular season and will lead the way once again Monday.

Back the LAKERS -3.5 (-110) to win by at least 4 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 225.5 (-110) on the highest point projection on Monday’s NBA slate. The Lakers are 2-1 against the O/U and the Blazers are 1-1, but the recent familiarity with one another should result in a slower-paced game.
