Louis King, a Hudson Catholic graduate and small forward for the Pistons, took a big step toward that second mission on Tuesday afternoon when his King Kares Foundation held its first event to give back to his hometown. King and his family distributed more than 150 hot meals to those in need after signing basketballs and backpacks to the kids on hand for the free event held at Angela Cares on Martin Luther King Drive, just five blocks from where he grew up.
