The Pirates just snapped a 7-game losing streak with a 5-0 win over Philadelphia.
The Brewers really fell off this month and haven’t really recovered. They are 5-5, 9-11 and 14-16 over their last 10, 20 and 30 games. They began the month a couple games up in the division and now sit 6 games behind the surging St. Louis Cardinals. There is still time, though, but they’re 1 1/2 games out of a wild-card spot as well.

TBD vs. RHP Corbin Burnes
J.T. Brubaker was supposed to make Monday’s start, but he was placed on the paternity list. The Pirates will either call up someone from the minors to make the start, or they’ll go with a bullpen game.
Burnes (9-6, 2.84 ERA) makes his 26th start. He has a 0.97 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9 and 11.2 K/9 in 152 1/3 IP.

Unless Pittsburgh is bringing up the 2nd coming of Doc Ellis to throw a no-hitter while on acid, it doesn’t matter who starts for them. Milwaukee takes it and scores 5 or more runs. We’re going to PASS on the RL. I think Milwaukee wins by 3, but I really don’t see much incentive to throw money at it.

Eight runs is a pretty enticing total for a team that is likely to have a rookie or a bullpen game on the mound. The Over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings as well.
