Analyzing Wednesday’s Pittsburgh at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 25 Pittsburgh Panthers (21-8, 14-4 ACC) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-19, 2-16) meet Wednesday at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Ind. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pittsburgh vs. Notre Dame game odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Panthers scored a season-high 99 points last time out in a 17-point victory and cover against Syracuse. Pitts enters the day with a half-game lead over Miami and Virginia for 1st place in the ACC with just 2 games remaining, including a trip to Miami next Saturday.

The Fighting Irish haven’t provided much resistance for most of this season, but Notre Dame has covered 3 of the past 4 outings. Still, the Irish are in a 7-game nosedive since an ACC win over lowly Louisville on Jan. 28. The Under has cashed in the past 4 games for the Irish.

Pittsburgh at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Pittsburgh 77, Notre Dame 69

Moneyline

The moneyline is a little on the pricey side, as PITTSBURGH (-190) sits just past my usual personal limit (-180) for a singular moneyline play. It’s a slam-dunk, though, if you don’t want to fiddle around with the points. The Panthers are vying for first in the ACC, and the Irish are just playing out the string. Don’t expect much resistance.

Against the spread

PITTSBURGH -3.5 (-115) simply needs to win by a pair of buckets to grab the cover. Yes, this is an ACC road game, but Notre Dame is a shell of its former self.

The Panthers are playing very good basketball lately, winning 8 of the past 9 games outright and covering the spread in 6 of the past 8. On the flip side, the Irish are just 5-15 ATS in the past 20 at home, including 0-4 ATS in the past 4 against teams with a winning road record.

Over/Under

OVER 142.5 (-110) is the lean in this ACC conflict.

The Over is 5-1 in the past 6 games overall, and Pitt just posted a season-high 99 points last time out against Syracuse. The Panthers’ offense has sky-high confidence right now, and it will put it on the struggling Irish.

While the Irish have cashed the Under in 4 straight, the Over is 5-1 in the past 6 games against teams with a winning overall record.
