Pistons: Killian Hayes leaves game early vs. Bucks with hip injury

The seventh overall pick was ruled out of returning after suffering a right hip injury in the third quarter.

Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes suffered an injury to his right hip versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night and was ruled out of returning, the team announced during the game.

Hayes appeared to endure the injury during the third quarter when he attempted to defend a layup try but instead fell to the ground. He immediately grabbed toward his right leg and looked to be visibly in discomfort.

The seventh overall pick recorded seven points and one assist prior to the injury.

Hayes previously suffered a sprained right ankle when he left the Pistons’ game early on Dec. 29. He did not miss any time with the injury and has appeared in each of the team’s seven games to this point, starting in each contest.

He was averaging 4.2 points and four assists entering Monday’s night game.
