Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart registers first double-double in win vs. Heat

Stewart turned in a career night on Saturday as the Pistons pulled off a key victory over the Heat on the road.

On Saturday, rookie Isaiah Stewart recorded his first career double-double to help lead the Detroit Pistons to a 120-100 victory on the road over the Miami Heat.

Stewart produced a career-high 10 points, 11 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end of the floor, two assists and one steal in 19 minutes off the bench. He finished by shooting 4-of-6 from the field before fouling out of the game in the fourth quarter.

The 16th overall pick exuded such strong energy and force on the court, often beating the opposition to rebounds and loose balls. He has played that way in each game to this point of the season and is a key reason why he ranks first in offensive rebounds among rookies.

Stewart has played a limited role with the Pistons this season, averaging under 17 minutes per game, but has made the most of his time on the court. He represents a key part of the future for Detroit and appears to be well on his way to becoming a regular contributor.

Certainly, performances like Saturday will help his chances of logging more minutes…
