There’s all sorts of buzz and excitement surrounding the 2023 Iowa Hawkeyes.
After an offseason filled with promising transfer portal pickups, Hawkeye fans are optimistic that Iowa’s offense can turn the corner and take this team into Big Ten and national contention this coming college football season.
Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz spoke to that newness at Big Ten media days.
“About our team, every year is unique. This year I think has certainly been unique for us and probably everybody else in college football. We had a large number of newcomers, if you will, in January, nine transfers.
“That’s a first for us certainly. And four more joined us in June. Needless to say, that’s reflective of the way college football’s gone on, the way it’s changing right now. We’re learning as we go. Excited about the guys that have joined us,” Ferentz said.
