The Wisconsin Badgers dropped their third-straight game in a disappointing 61-51 loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin guards Chucky Hepburn and Max Klemsit were the only Badgers to score more than nine points.
The Badgers’ struggles from the field continued in this matchup, as they shot 33.3 percent as a team with guards Connor Essegian and Jordan Davis going a combined 0-9 from the field. On defense, Wisconsin could not contain Illinois forward Matthew Mayer, who dropped 26 points on the Badgers including five three-pointers.
Wisconsin will move on to face the Ohio State Buckeyes on the road on Thursday, in a matchup where both teams are desperately looking for a victory to get out of the bottom of the Big Ten.
