On Wednesday night, the Wisconsin Badgers limited the Iowa Hawkeyes, the highest-scoring team in the Big Ten, to 32.3 percent shooting from the field and only 52 points in their 12-point victory at the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin freshman guard Connor Essegian rebounded from his 0-10 shooting performance against Rutgers with 17 points and five rebounds against the Hawkeyes. Essegian was the Badgers’ leading scorer, but forward Tyler Wahl may have been the player of the game as he limited Iowa star Kris Murray to only five points, while finishing with 11 points and 14 rebounds of his own.
The Badgers will continue to try and keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive when they match up against the Michigan Wolverines on the road on Sunday afternoon.
