The UNC football program got the best of Pitt in Saturday’s Atlantic Coast Conference showdown in Chapel Hill. The 42-24 win put the Tar Heels at 7-1 overall and 4-0 in ACC play.
From here, the Tar Heels control their own destiny with just four conference games left. They have a two-game lead in the division with the tiebreaker over Duke, Miami, Virginia Tech, and now Pitt. They do have games left against Virginia and Georgia Tech, as well as cross-conference games against Wake Forest and NC State.
But we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves here and enjoy this victory just a bit more. Because it was a sweet one backed by the play of Drake Maye.
