It was a rainy night in Chapel Hill and things got off to a slow start for the UNC football program on Saturday night, but in the end, the Tar Heels got the win and that’s what matters the most.
Quarterback Drake Maye helped lead the Tar Heels to the 56-24 win on Saturday night, throwing for 294 yards and 5 touchdowns. He helped orchestrate four scoring drives in the first half, throwing four touchdowns in the process. While UNC’s defense struggled at times, it was the offense that really keep them from letting the game get out of hand.
With the win, UNC heads into Appalachian State next week with some things to improve on.
That’s a tough road environment and if UNC plays sloppy like they did on Saturday, they are going to get upset. Especially in the secondary and the status of Tony Grimes still in doubt.
