Evansville (39-24) forced a game No. 3 in the NCAA Tournament Knoxville Super Regional.
The Purple Aces tied a best-of-three series against Tennessee (54-12), defeating the Vols, 10-8, at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols won game No. 1 on Friday, 11-6.
Sunday’s series finale between Tennessee and the Purple Aces is slated for 6 p.m. EDT and will be televised by ESPNU. The winner will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Vols have advanced to the College World Series six times in program history (1951, 1995, 2001, 2005, 2021, 2023).
