It was a much closer game than many expected, but when the final horn sounded, the Tennessee Volunteers came away with a 38-33 victory over the Florida Gators in Neyland Stadium.
The visitors hung tough, trailing by three at the end of both the first and second quarters. The Vols turned it on in the second half and unfortunately, the Gators were unable to keep up with Josh Heupel’s high-octane offense. However, the Orange and Blue made things interesting with a recovered on-side kick in the final minute but failed to capitalize before time ran out.
